"As Needed" Part-Time Instructor-Freshman Computer Studies

Job Description Summary: Part-time instructor for a multi-site college in the University System of Georgia. Reporting to the Dean of the Division of Mathematics, the part-time instructor is responsible for preparing for and delivering instruction in computer literacy (FCCS 1100-Freshman College Computer Studies), including the Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office 2013 and online research. Key Qualifications: Master’s degree with an emphasis in information technology, information systems, library science, information science, business or a related field Availablity to teach day, evening, or weekend courses at one or more of the Georgia Highlands College instructional sites. Key Responsibilities: Manage courses through systematic use of syllabi Keep accurate records of students’ class performance, attendance, and grades Adopt and implement common course objectives Attend part-time faculty orientation prior to the beginning of the semester Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2013 and Windows 7 Experience with MLA style Proficiency with Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO) and online database searching
