Director of the Center for Career Education
Reporting to the Vice-President for Student Affairs, the Director provides overall direction, leadership and strategic vision for the department within the context of the College’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Community and Diversity, Social Responsibility, Integrity and Creative Expression. Responsibilities include coordinating activities and managing all aspects of the department, cultivation and development of relationships with business and industry contacts, creation and implementation of a four year, developmentally appropriate career and professional development program in order to support campus objectives for student retention, program completion, and graduate placement. A master's degree in higher education or related field; four - six years’ experience in increasingly responsible and professional roles; an established record of strong employer relations/development; and, an established record of excellent leadership and mentoring relationships with students, collegial relationships with staff and faculty, and strong written and oral communications skills, particularly with students and their parents are required Successful experience with professional staff supervision and a two campus system preferred. Outstanding organizational, management and technology skills and a sense of humor; and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment using time-management principles desired.
