GENERAL DUTIES

Plans and manages College fundraising strategy and operations.

- Implements and monitors comprehensive resource development program; makes recommendations to improve department policies and procedures

- Fulfills specific goals and targets based on individual portfolio

- Assists Director with developing funding strategies and assessing outcomes

- Oversees annual and/or major gift activities to support strategic plan

- Maintains relationships with donors and sponsoring organizations to cultivate and maintain funding

- Prepares financial reports for management; may write grant proposals

- May manage professional and/or clerical staff

- Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York invites applications for the full-time position of Major Gifts Manager.  The Major Gifts Manager will participate in strategically assisting in developing and implementing an aggressive fundraising program for the College with principal emphasis on major gifts.

New York City College of Technology seeks a fundraiser with direct solicitation experience or with clearly transferable experience in a related area to work with potential major gift donors in our forthcoming capital campaign. The Major Gifts Manager will participate in creating his/her own portfolio of potential donors. This position reports directly to the Special Assistant to the President, who is the chief Institutional Advancement officer. It is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a limited development background to gain the skills and experience required for a senior position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and implement strategies to grow gifts at the $1,000 level and above, including naming opportunities in the academic complex currently under construction.
- Manage a portfolio of identified and rated gift prospects with the capacity to give at this level.
- Participate in the strategic direction of the major gifts campaign.
- Work directly with Foundation Board members, faculty, and others who will participate in major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Participate in regular Campaign management meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in personal solicitation or transferable experience with a proven record of success
- Experience in a leadership position dealing with diverse populations
- Excellent managerial and written and oral communications skills
- Ability to prioritize, conduct analysis, assist in setting strategy, prepare reports, and establish and meet goals and milestones
- Flexibility to work both independently and as a team member
- Raiser's Edge experience is a plus

COMPENSATION

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
