Director of Campus Security
Elizabethtown College invites applications for the position of Director of Campus Security. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the campus in support of the College mission and strategic goals. The Director has a proactive 24/7 security program in a residential college environment. The Director has responsibility for the management of all public safety and security operations for the campus, including emergency planning and response, crime and fire prevention, investigation of major incidents, and for significant compliance management related to the Clery Act and Title IX. The incumbent will have a commitment to continuous program improvement and on-going staff development. As a highly visible leader, the Director will effectively communicate and collaborate with campus partners and local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency management units. Qualified applicants will possess a bachelor’s degree plus three-five years’ experience leading a public safety/security operation preferably in a higher education setting. Previous experience motivating and training a community-oriented safety/security team is essential. Comprehensive knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Act, Title IX, critical incident management and security systems technology is required. An understanding of the unique role of safety and security in a residential college setting with demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with college students, faculty, and staff representing diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences preferred.
