New York City College of Technology, CUNY, located in Downtown Brooklyn, offers over fifty associate and baccalaureate degree programs to a diverse student population of nearly 17,000. The Mathematics Department is composed of over 40 accomplished faculty members. The Department offers two baccalaureate degrees in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics Education in addition to mathematics courses required for the College's other degree programs.  Faculty members are responsible for teaching, academic advisement, curriculum development and review, assessment, research, guidance, college and departmental assignments, and professional development.

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.


Must have a Ph.D. in pure or applied mathematics and a minimum of two years experience in teaching mathematics courses up to and including calculus. A demonstrated ability to interact with students in a multicultural environment is desirable. Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English are essential. Experience in curriculum development, instructional technology, innovative pedagogy, and teaching developmental math also desirable. Evidence of continuing scholarly growth required.  Candidates with expertise in use of graphing calculators and computers in instruction preferred.   Experience in grant proposal writing or knowledge of applied industrial and financial mathematics or mathematics education K-12 is a plus.
