The APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology of the City University of New York, located at the City College of New York (CCNY), invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at any rank to begin Fall 2014.  The CCNY Clinical Psychology program has a scholar-practitioner focus embedded within a longstanding commitment to training professionals who will make clinical, theoretical, and research contributions that address the needs of underserved and minority populations.  The program is located in Harlem and offers a clinic that serves a highly diverse student body as well as the surrounding community.  The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active, externally funded program of research; publish theoretical and empirical research in top-tier journals; be committed to both undergraduate and graduate education; and provide clinical supervision to doctoral students.

The City College of New York has a strong institutional commitment to the principle of diversity.  In that spirit, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from a broad spectrum of people, including women and under-represented groups.  Upon request, reasonable accommodations will be provided for persons with disabilities.

Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an accredited program is required.  A history of obtaining external grant support is necessary in senior candidates; junior candidates are expected to have a strong potential for funding.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished combination of teacher, researcher, and clinician, capable of generating an externally funded research program in pediatric or clinical child psychology.  A demonstrated history or interest in clinical and scholarly teaching to complement their current research focus is essential.  We also seek a candidate with a record of clinical scholarship around issues facing minority and underserved populations.  Applicants with interests in a wide variety of research endeavors are welcomed, especially in the area of psychotherapy outcome research.
