Job Summary/Essential Functions:
Under the oversight of the Executive Director of Global Initiatives, this position will administer and develop EWU's study abroad programming. This position will also provide fiscal accountability, personnel management and resource allocation for a wide variety of turn-key international programs and grants. In addition to overseeing special events on and off campus, this position is responsible for logistics related to the hosting foreign delegations and dignitaries. This position will also administer short-term programs and third-party programming for international partner universities and associations and is responsible for promoting the fore-mentioned activities. In addition to implementing and interpreting policies, this position also serves as a liaison between EWU and community organizations/agencies and foreign embassies/consulates. This position is also responsible for development, maintenance and dissemination of foreign and domestic resource materials on international exchanges, education and home country developments and related professional publications. This position may also assume additional administrative responsibilities as assigned in the Office of Global Initiatives (OGI). This position will channel strategic vision into concrete plans of action while providing structure, direction, evaluation and feedback to subordinates. Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, to include active listening abilities, are required for success in this position. Superior written and verbal communication is essential, as is a service-minded attitude.
Responsible for the overall administration and program development of the Study Abroad Program; responsible for a systematic approach that supports EWU's strategic planning goals, the Study Abroad Program and increasing study abroad participation.
Responsible for fiscal accountability, personnel management and resource allocation for turn-key international programs and grants.
Responsible for liaison and coordinative services between EWU, community organizations/agencies, and foreign embassies/consulates, and implementation and interpretation of policies.
Responsible for development, maintenance, and dissemination of foreign and domestic resource materials on international exchanges, education, and home-country developments and related professional publications.
Responsible for the direction, supervision, training and evaluation of staff employees.
Conditions of Employment:
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment.

o 5+ years progressive international program development, execution and management experience
o Experience in development, analysis and implementation of strategic and tactical program plans
o Ability to assess potential program and market viability, and analyze return on investment across diverse sets of activities
o Superior written and verbal communication skills
o Demonstrated organizational and detail management
o Advanced computer skills to include: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
o Must have a driver's license and be able to obtain valid passport and visas required for international travel.
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
