Hope College seeks a dynamic, visionary, and collegial leader to serve as Dean for Natural and Applied Sciences beginning July 1, 2015. Strong candidates will demonstrate previous academic leadership, a record of excellent teaching and scholarship, and a commitment to the liberal arts in the context of the historic Christian faith. The Dean for Natural and Applied Sciences is the chief academic and administrative officer of the NAS division and is responsible for overseeing the programs and activities of eleven academic departments and programs including: Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Geology and Environmental Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Health Professions, Engineering, and Nursing. The Dean provides vision and leadership to maintain an innovative program of teaching and scholarship for the NAS division. With this leadership, we strive to become the very best at preparing students for their careers by championing undergraduate research opportunities, supporting interdisciplinary studies in science, becoming a leader in global studies at the college, and developing other experiential learning models.
