Clinical Assistant Professor

Position Summary: THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH POLICY AND MANAGEMENT, UNC GILLINGS SCHOOL OF GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH, UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL is seeking applicants for multiple fixed term positions at the levels of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor. We seek highly qualified individuals to teach courses, especially in the following areas: health care management, strategic planning and marketing, professional development, health care consulting and/or business plan development, decision science, operations research, program evaluation, statistics and health policy and to advise and mentor students on research papers and capstone course teams in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Applications will be accepted and reviewed until the positions are filled. The anticipated start date is April 2015 or when the positions are filled. The Department offers multiple degree programs including the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. The MPH and MHA are offered in both residential and executive (non-residential) formats. The Department currently has 38 full-time faculty and over 100 joint and adjunct faculty. The health services research base is strong and growing. The teaching program is outstanding and dynamic with substantial ongoing investment in excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. Education Requirements: Applicants should possess a master's or doctoral degree (preferred) in health policy and management, business administration, public health, or a related field.
Qualification and Experience: Ideal candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: * Teaching courses in health care management, strategic planning and marketing, professional development, US and international comparative health systems, decision science, program evaluation, statistics, operations research, health policy, health care consulting, and/or business plan development. * Providing academic advising, research and professional mentoring, and professional development support to undergraduate and graduate students. * Significant experience working in health care, domestically or internationally.
