Description:

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, an academic health science centre fully affiliated with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, invites applications for the position of Genitourinary Pathologist at the rank of Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor. The start date will be mutually agreed upon.

The Department of Anatomic Pathology incorporates the specialties of Anatomic Pathology and Molecular Pathology. There are 19 medical and scientific staff, and more than 50 technical and support staff supporting a full service referral lab that performs more than 30,000 surgical pathology, approximately 30,000 cytopathology and approximately 100 medical autopsy testing per year.

Applicants must possess a medical degree and hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in a branch of laboratory medicine, or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. A formal Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship training is a requirement along with demonstrated interest in this field with documented scholarly track record. As the department is building its centre of excellence in clinical-pathologic correlative studies, preference will be given to individuals with formal training in clinical genitourinary.

The successful candidate should be eligible for academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the uniform minimal level of compensation for pathologists in the Province of Ontario (currently $347,562 per annum).
