Goucher College, a selective small liberal arts college located twenty minutes north of Baltimore, and the first college in the nation to require students to study abroad, invites and encourages applications for a one-year (with possibility of renewal) Visiting Assistant Professor position in Education, beginning in August, 2014. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching five courses: Secondary School Internship, Methods of Secondary Teaching, Adolescent Development (fall and spring), Methods of Teaching Social Studies in the Elementary and Special Education Classroom, and possibly a special topics course in education or a course designed to help students reflect upon their study abroad experience. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of application and preference will be given to candidates with experience in teacher preparation, STEM education, or math education. There will be opportunities for faculty to develop courses with an interdisciplinary focus as well.
