Job Description Summary: This person will support the Special Populations Office in the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities. To assist with Compass Assessments and the preparation of specialized accommodations required for specific disabilities. Required Qualifications: Associate degree in subject, certifications and or work experience with students with disabilities. Any combination of these as long as they have the criteria to meet the essential duties of this position. Preferred Qualifications: Computer literacy required. (Word, Excel Spreadsheets) Successful methods of helping students with disabilities and use of a variety of technologies to support accommodations. Excellent organizational and personal communication skills. Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard as well as ability to read and review materials for accuracy. Hearing and speaking to exchange information with students, parents and staff. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Willingness to learn new technologies to support different individual needs. Ability to be flexible in daily schedules and assignments in order to meet student needs. Ability to deal with constant interruptions. Other Information: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Read Compass Assessments for incoming students. Secure textbooks from publishers in adapted format. Assist students in the use of software such a Balabolka and Open Book technology. Send Accommodations Memo's to instructors and students each semester. Support the data development process for entering new student data. Enter Banner data each semester. Maintain lists of active students. Be available for drop-in requests for assistance and support.
