Position Summary: Performs and coordinates laboratory experiments involving whole animal and cell culture-based studies; conducts laboratory assays using biochemical and molecular biological techniques; assists in the planning of studies as well as data collection and analysis; and oversees compliance with safety regulations and ordering supplies.

Knowledge equivalent to what normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in basic biological sciences such as biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, or related field; up to six months of related work experience in basic research techniques in the specific or related field; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: One to three years of laboratory experience; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software; experience in cell culture and aseptic technique; experience in handling animals, particularly mice; knowledge of basic statistical tests commonly used to analyze data from laboratory studies; ability to think critically; demonstrated passion for laboratory research; interest in developing oneself as a scientist who is excited by discovery.
