Position Summary: Will serve as Diagnostics Engineer III and will manage the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of all diagnostics systems of the FRIB project safely and within the approved budget and schedule.

Knowledge normally acquired by completing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physical Sciences; three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in electronics design, implementation, and validation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to work with export controlled items.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Experience with particle accelerator diagnostics, RF, timing, and control systems; experience in the development of electronic instrumentation for scientific applications or other complex electronic systems; experience in data acquisition software and hardware for instrument design and control; experience with programming and scripting languages; experience with RF circuitry and design practices; experience with micro-processor and/or FPGA or embedded applications; experience with software specific to electronics design and PCB layout; an understanding of advanced mathematical and scientific software applications; strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well with diverse people of various cultural backgrounds; ability to work independently and in a team environment; ability to work under pressure, pay close attention to detail, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality; ability to collaborate and consult with researchers on instrumentation needs; ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions with sound judgment; ability to analyze and interpret University and facility policies and procedures for safety and security; ability to perform shift work periodically.
