Position Summary: The marketing analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data from Web analytics, social media analytics, e-mail campaign analytics, paid advertising analytics, customer databases, market research initiatives, and other data sources in order to provide clarity and understanding about audiences, assess communications performance, and optimize communications to drive desired results; the position will work with leadership and communications managers to understand business objectives and determine information needs, use a variety of analysis tools and techniques to translate data into meaningful information, and report and present findings that inform strategy and decision-making.

Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor work, such as a master's in business analytics, research methodologies, mathematics, statistics, economics, applied psychology, market research, computer science, or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in business analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence, or marketing research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Three to five years of specific experience with and knowledge of: gathering marketing analytics and market research data, performing analysis, developing reports, and creating client presentations; data mining and data analysis (e.g., manipulation, extraction, cleansing, modeling); data visualization and business intelligence, designing and developing reports and dashboards, using large data sources to tell data stories; designing and/or managing marketing measurement framework; analysis and drawing meaningful and actionable insights from marketing and market research data; CPM, CPC and CPA online media buying models; different types of targeting tactics such as audience targeting, lookalike modeling, and retargeting; performance/direct response media metrics (reach, frequency, cost-per, custom metrics/methodologies, etc.); census based tracking (cookie methods and tracking limitations); basic Web development principles and tagging considerations; digital analytics reporting suites (Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, Facebook analytics, StrongView analytics, Doubleclick, Compete, etc.); digital analytics ecosystem (DSPs algorithm capabilities and inputs, DMPs and their offerings, Panel methodologies); programmatic buying (DSP, exchanges, etc.); business intelligence and/or analytics tools (Adobe Insights, SAS, Cognos, Tableau); Excel, macros/pivot tables; database and content management systems; knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media; higher education industry knowledge; intellectual curiosity and passion for digital media; strong conceptual skills and the ability to turn data and statistical information into opportunities for visual storytelling; extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects.
