Basic Functions: Assist Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach with the daily operation of the swimming program and the recruitment of student-athletes. Perform duties of the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach if needed in his/her absence. Cover general administrative and/or teaching assignments for the department as needed and in fulfillment of a 'second duty' within the department as assigned by the Director of Athletics/Chair of Physical Education.

Essential Job Functions: Assist Head Men's and Women's Swimming coach with the daily operation of the swimming program and the recruitment of student-athletes. Administrative duties include: make team travel arrangements, monitor academic progress of students, supervise student workers, administer student forms, maintain team records and statistics, provide Sports Information Office with appropriate information for publications and press releases, and assist equipment room with the distribution and maintenance of athletic equipment. Coaching duties: include monitor preparation of athletic facilities for practice and meets, scout opposing teams, develop and apply team rules, and assist the head coach with team selection, practices, and meet management. Recruiting duties include: identify and contact prospective student-athletes, arrange campus visits, develop printed recruiting materials, and assist the Admissions Office with special events. Additional duties will include general administrative responsibilities and/or teaching for the department. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum requirements include: * Minimum of a four year undergraduate degree and sound knowledge of intercollegiate swimming. * Demonstrated ability to coach at the college, club, or high school level. * Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills. * Demonstrate an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment. * Must have a current, valid driver's license and must be insurable under Denison's liability insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include: * Successful intercollegiate swim coaching experience. * Successful and proven experience in recruiting student athletes. * Demonstrate an understanding of NCAA Division III, conference and institutional rules and regulation regarding intercollegiate swimming. * One year of significant and demonstrable experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
