Position Summary: The Department of French and Italian is seeking to appoint a number of Lecturers in French to teach a range of courses in language and culture in a dynamic undergraduate program committed to innovation and excellence. Appointments are made on an as-needed, per term basis with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and approval of the Dean,and may be for one semester or the academic year beginning September 1, 2014. The number of hours will depend upon enrollments, and eligibility for benefits depends on the number of hours appointed. Native or near native fluency in French and English is essential, as is proven experience teaching French at the university level. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. or M.A. working toward Ph.D. preferred. Ability to supervise and mentor graduate student instructors highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in SLA or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will be considered.
