Washington & Jefferson College (W&J), a selective private liberal arts and sciences college just south of Pittsburgh, invites applications for the position of Vice President for Enrollment. This position, which reports to the President of the College and is part of the President’s cabinet, is responsible for overseeing and providing strategic direction for the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid. The new Vice President for Enrollment will be charged with devising a data-driven strategic plan for admissions and financial aid, creating an appropriate communications stream (utilizing all media) for prospective applicants and their influencers, overseeing effective campus visitation programs, collaborating with the Vice President for Student Life and the Vice President for Academic Affairs to sustain high retention rates. The Vice President for Enrollment will play a key role within the College community, working closely with the other vice presidents and the larger W&J community to support the College vision and mission and achieve college-wide goals. THE COLLEGE: Washington & Jefferson is the 11th oldest college in the country and ranked #1 per capita for producing future attorneys and #3 for future physicians and medical researchers. With a current enrollment of approximately 1300 students, the College has seen significant growth in the size and diversity over the past ten years and seeks to sustain that trend. The College routinely receives 7000 applications from all 50 states and several foreign countries for 400 places in its freshman class. W&J has invested more than $100 million in its physical plant in the last ten years. The successful candidate will have evidence of successfully implemented recruitment strategies for both domestic and international students, strong professional ethics, and a commitment to the mission of a liberal arts college.
