Associate Professor and Director, School in India
Middlebury College

Applicants must be authorized to work legally in India.

Middlebury College seeks an Associate Professor and Director to administer, implement, and develop Middlebury’s academic program in India at St Stephen’s College, Lady Shri Ram College, and the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS). The Director will work closely with the Office of International Programs & Off-Campus Study (IPOCS) in consultation with the appropriate Middlebury faculty, programs and departments, the School in India Faculty Advisory Board, and the Vice President for Language Schools, Schools Abroad, and Graduate Programs (VPLSSAGP). Because this is a relatively new program, the Director will be required to develop and manage key relationships in a cooperative, strategic manner. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Ideally, candidates should have studied, taught, and administered programs in both the U.S. and the host culture. Some prior contact with a Middlebury School Abroad or Summer Language School is also desirable but not a pre-requisite.

Middlebury College is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to hiring a diverse staff and faculty as we work to foster innovation in our curriculum and to provide a rich and varied educational experience to our increasingly diverse student body.
