Reporting to both the Athletic Marketing Manager and Associate Athletic Director of Marketing/Promotions/Sales, the Co-head Cheer Coach is a critical member of the Athletic Department's Spirit Squad, and interacts regularly with many constituencies. He/she is responsible for organizing and supervising all cheerleading events at practice sessions, athletic and special events. In addition, the incumbent will organize and implement a recruiting program to attract outstanding cheerleaders to Temple University in accordance with the rules and regulations of NCAA and American Athletic Conference. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Cherry Cheer Team including scheduling and attending regular practice sessions, choreographing game-day routines for football and basketball games, scheduling and facilitating various fundraisers, ordering uniforms, coordinating various community, promotional and University appearances and creating an overall commitment to Temple University school spirit. The Co-head Cheer Coach will also perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree; prior cheerleading experience at the collegiate or high school level; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities *Experience coaching or understanding of collegiate cheerleading. *Ability to motivate and lead student-athletes toward competitive and academic success. *ACA Certification. *Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends. Preferred: *Prior experience in choreography, partner stunts, tumbling and/or skills training.
