Department Chair – Applied Behavior Analysis

Successful candidates must hold an earned doctorate in behavior analysis, and hold the BCBA or BCBA-D certification. They should have at least 3-5 years of previous administrative experience as an academic department chair or program director, and a record of scholarship or professional experience commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This department offers both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at the downtown LA campus. Program chairs are expected to provide the day-to-day administrative functions of their respective departments. These duties include providing direction to the faculty with regard to scheduling courses, hiring full and adjunct faculty, chairing meetings, assessing curricular and student assessment data, managing yearly budgets, addressing student concerns, reviewing and assessing accreditation standards and department goals, and coordinating various administrative functions with the Dean of Academic Affairs and other departments as appropriate.
