Experience dynamic growth, self-directed effort, and a healthy work/life balance among our diverse group of professionals. *What your key responsibilities will be:* * As a Financial Aid Counselor you will be responsible for providing individual and group financial aid advice to students and parents, including adequate loan counseling and financial literacy information. * Also, awards, interprets and explains federal Title IV, state and institutional regulations to clients and the impact of regulations on funding levels, eligibility and processing. * Responsible for maintaining comprehensive up-to-date knowledge of all Title IV financial aid rules and regulations, ensuring that all aid policies and procedures in area of responsibility are in compliance with federal, state and institutional financial aid rules and regulations. * You will participate in training seminars, conferences, committee meetings, etc. for professional development in the areas of Title IV financial aid. * Other duties assigned depending on the counseling team where the position is assigned. --- *What we can offer:* Salary commensurate with experience The University of Colorado offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and ECO Pass. Minimum Qualifications: *What we require:* * A BA/BS from an accredited 4 year institution of higher education is required. * One year of financial aid or enrollment services experience in a higher education setting. * Knowledge of Federal Title IV financial aid regulations.

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *What you will need:* * Ability to conduct financial aid presentations to both small and large groups. * Experience with a student information system and Microsoft Office applications. * A strong commitment to customer service. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. * Ability to work well with all levels of the organization. * Final candidate must successfully pass a background check and cannot be in default on a student loan either upon hire or while employed in this position.

Desired Qualifications: *What we'd like you to have:* * Two or more years of financial aid experience in a higher education setting. * Working knowledge of federal financial aid data systems including NSLDS, FAA Access, and COD. Knowledge of State of Colorado financial aid regulations. * At least one year of supervisory experience with the ability to supervise a diverse staff by defining goals and objectives, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines. * Experience with the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions product. * Ability to communicate in Spanish. _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._
