Position Summary: The Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University is seeking outstanding candidates for anticipated fixed-term (non-tenure stream) faculty positions in support of our teacher preparation and master's degree programs. These are primarily part-time positions with the possibility that some may be full time (one year appointments) based upon applicant qualifications and program needs. Primary responsibilities may be at the East Lansing campus or at one of our off-campus sites in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Chicago.
Responsibilities may include some combination of the following: teaching pre-service or master's level courses in subject matter pedagogy, learners and learning, special education, diversity, action research, curriculum development and integration, or foundational studies in education; field instruction with 5th year interns and assisting with the administration of the teacher preparation program.
Positions' ranks will be at the level of lecturer, instructor or assistant professor, depending on qualifications. Appointments may be for one or more semesters beginning Fall 2013.
Faculty: Minimum Qualifications
Support Staff: Minimum Requirements An advanced degree in a relevant field (a doctorate is preferred, but outstanding candidates with a bachelor's and/or master's degree and exceptional experience will be considered), appropriate k-12 teaching and school experience or relevant college-level teaching; evidence of scholarly and professional contributions to state/national professional associations, and leadership in regional or national professional development or curriculum projects.
