DIR INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
Job Summary The Director of International Partnerships provides the leadership and strategic direction for UGA's international engagement. S/he works with Deans and faculty in developing international collaborative activities (such as joint research projects, academic exchanges, joint academic programming) with foreign universities and developing of the formal agreements with international entities. The IP unit also serves as a conduit for foreign institutions to connect with UGA and handles the hosting of high-level international delegations to UGA. It serves as a liaison between UGA and the Georgia Consular Corps and foreign diplomatic corps in the U.S. and other international entities that advance UGA's mission. Reporting to the director are the International Partnerships coordinator and the International Relations Coordinator/Protocol Officer. The IP Director reports directly to the Associate Provost for International Education and is part of the AP's senior team. S/he will work closely with UGA units such as the Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of Economic Development, Legal Affairs, and Institutional Research, as well as with administrators and faculty in UGA's academic units and research centers to advance UGA's strategic global engagement Minimum Qualifications This position requires a minimum of Masters degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of significant experience in a position involving global affairs or international engagement. Candidates should have familiarity with higher education institutions, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
