Job Description Summary:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus one to three years of coaching/playing experience, preferably at the college level. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in coaching baseball at an NCAA institution and previous college (preferably Division 1), professional, and/or international playing experience is strongly preferred.
Most recent experience as a pitching coach.
Demonstrated ability to recruit highly qualified student-athletes.
Experience with fiscal management and daily operations of an intercollegiate athletics department preferred.
Strong organizational, management and communications skills with attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Assists in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the baseball program.
Assists in team coaching and individual player development.
Assists in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of baseball student-athletes.
Assists in budget management and team fundraising.
Maintains knowledge and remains current regarding all appropriate NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, Department of Athletics and Recreation, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
Develops and maintains effective relationships and communications with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and general public.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics and Recreation.
