Essential Functions: Provide leadership through the direct supervision of directors and faculty in the department by performing all supervisory duties required to maintain and operate department; prepare and monitor departmental budgets; initiate new programs, courses and grants; establish and maintain effective working and cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, advisory committees and outside agencies. Coordinate all aspects of Career Technical Education and Career and College Promise (CCP) programming including the development of the high school curriculum guide, submission of CCP certificates to NCCCS, facilitation of orientations for faculty and transition advisors, and the development of marketing and publicity materials related to Career and College Promise. Serve as liaison to public schools for cooperative programs in Career Technical Education and Caldwell Career Center Middle College. Instruct 6–9 contact hours; prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards, attendance polices and course syllabus to be distributed at first class meeting; select text books; prepare, proctor and grade tests; prepare instructional materials and aids. Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of student atten­dance and performance within the department. Ensure the timely submission of institutional reports. Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of the goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures regarding the department; approving new or modified systems, policies and procedures. Assist in evaluating activities and operations of the department; assist in evaluating that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population; assist in establishing and monitoring program evaluation systems and procedures. Coordinate departmental assessment reports. Assist in the coordination and participation in the development and administration of the assigned academic division budget; recommend funds for equip­ment, materials and supplies; recommend staffing needs; monitor and approve expenditures; implement mid-year adjustments. Assist in direction and oversee and participate in the development of the division work plan; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; review payroll and attendance records; review and evaluate work products, methods and proce­dures. Assist in recruitment, selection, training, motivation and evaluation of instructional personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with faculty to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures. Assist in coordination of the academic program's efforts to recruit and retain students; assist in coordination of the development, review and revision of program publications, publicity and other community relation activities. Assist in the development and maintenance of policies, rules and regulations of the college. Assist in coordinating the selection, use and maintenance of equipment and facilities assigned to the program. Assist in the use and maintenance of facilities for an assigned division. Attend various meetings, seminars and conferences; make presentations to outside agencies as a representative of the college; stay abreast of new developments in the assigned area of study. Assist in initiating contracts between the college and outside agencies; developing, reviewing and approving new program proposals. Assist in assuring compliance with SACS, state and national standards for programs and faculty.
