Unit Job Summary: Recruiter: Reporting to the Senior Recruiter, the Recruiter assists our units across the University with staff recruiting, including advising on advertising and outreach methods, sourcing candidates, prescreening resumes, interviewing candidates, checking references, and advising on salary levels. In addition, the Recruiter: -Partners with hiring managers at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, to fill various levels of staff positions -Creates effective behavioral-based interview guides for various positions for the use of the Human Resources Staffing & Recruitment team, HR professionals, and hiring managers -Utilizes proactive candidate sourcing methods such as social media, networking, cold calling, internet research and partnering with affiliated organizations to develop a pipeline of qualified and competitive candidates for various positions -Conducts outreach efforts to recruit diverse applicant pools by partnering with various University departments, affiliated organizations and local workforce development agencies to attend and/or facilitate programs and job fairs aimed at the recruitment of diverse and qualified candidates -Communicates various University policies, employment considerations, and procedures to hiring managers and HR professionals through written communication, meetings and workshops -Manages and maintains the applicant tracking system and assists hiring managers, HR professionals, and prospective candidates by answering questions and troubleshooting the system -May assist assigned units with any/all hiring needs beyond recruitment including the creation of new requisitions, coordination of skills assessments, completion of new hire paperwork, and other duties as assigned -May design and facilitate customized training with units and newly hired human resources employees on employment processes, procedures, best practices and issues -Provides consultation to and advises hiring units to ensure University policies and procedures and applicable employment laws are applied appropriately -Works closely with other Human Resources Centers of Expertise, including Employee & Labor Relations, Training, Compensation, and HR Operations to provide a high-level of customer service to all HR professionals and hiring managers -Manages special projects and other duties as assigned

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Unit Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience recruiting in a human resources setting or at a staffing firm, required. Two years, preferred. Experience in human resources at a complex higher education institution, preferred. Experience utilizing proactive candidate sourcing methods, preferred.
