Nutrition Education Materials, Evaluation, and Training Manager (Search extended)

UMass Extension has an opening at UMass Amherst for a Materials, Evaluation, and Training Manager to work with our Nutrition Education programs (SNAP-Ed and EFNEP), serving low-income families and communities throughout Massachusetts. Responsibilities include: identify, develop, implement, evaluate, and update curricula and materials; develop, implement, analyze, and report evaluation activities and impacts; plan, develop, deliver, and coordinate statewide staff training efforts; and contribute to short and long range planning, program development, annual plan development, and annual report development.
Minimum Qualifications: MA/MS in nutrition field (e.g. nutrition, nutrition education, community nutrition) and five years experience relevant to the position; Proven successful experience working with nutrition education programs for low-income, low-literate, culturally diverse audiences; Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity which is not restricted by access to public or private transportation; Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in nutrition; Knowledge and experience with curriculum development and program evaluation theory and methods with this audience; Experience providing nutrition or nutrition education training; Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in professional team efforts and with diverse groups of people; Knowledge and demonstrated ability to implement education theories and practices with diverse adult and youth audiences; Working knowledge of Access and statistical software packages.
Continuation of appointment beyond 9-30-14 is expected and is contingent on the availability of funds.
Hiring Salary Range: $49,900 – $62,700. Position includes full benefits.
Normal Starting Salary Range: $49,900 – $56,300.
