University Health Services

Master's degree in public health, health promotion, health education, higher education, or related field and two years experience related to health and human services.

Collaborative work style with self-directed initiative and presentation skills.

Experience working with college student populations, multicultural and minority programming.

Experience developing and facilitating Alcohol and other drug prevention initiatives/programs.

Familiar with health promotion theories, evidence based best practices, outcome evaluation, statistical analysis, and health behavior research methodologies.

Ability to provide leadership and problem solving skills in analyzing health and safety needs of college students.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; computer literate.

Position requires successful completion of a post hire PPD(TB) test and OSHA training.

Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

Supervisory experience.

Certified Health Education Specialist.

At least 3 years of current, relevant experience in college health promotion, alcohol and drug education and early intervention.

Occasional evening and weekend hours required due to UHS operating schedule, workload and university calendar.

Provide direct leadership, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, initiatives and long range plans for alcohol and other drug prevention. Assumes delegated authority/responsibility to recommend and implement policies within alcohol and other drug prevention. Participate in the development of strategic planning for alcohol and other drug prevention, and other health and safety prevention as needed. Supervise Alcohol and Drug professional and student staff to include recruitment, organization, training and evaluation. Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of theory and evidence based health promotion strategies, policies, programs and services relating to alcohol and drug prevention. Collaborate with key stakeholders and assist in developing partnerships throughout the university in order to attain goals and objectives. Serve on various health center and university committees as assigned.
