The Senior Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Leadership Division with developing, coordinating, marketing, management and evaluation for multi-lateral ACE leadership programs, including programs that foster diversity and inclusion in higher education, particularly within the senior leadership. As a Leadership Team Member, this position will report to the Inclusive Excellence Group (IEG), while fostering collaboration across all leadership programs to infuse to accelerate and support diversity and women’s leadership. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS: Managerial Duties •Assists the IEG and Leadership Division in the day-to-day operations of the department’s and ACE’s goals and objectives; effectively prioritize work and shift priorities as required to ensure that the most urgent needs are met. •Conducts research specifically pertaining to issues related to higher education, diversity, inclusion and leadership; participate in drafting, writing and producing publications and reports. •Work across teams within the Leadership Programs divisions including, Inclusive Excellence Group, Emerging Leaders, Executive Leadership and Institutional Leadership programs to support vertical and horizontal alignment of leadership programs within ACE. •Work with the VP/CLO and IEG Director to help evaluate existing programs, services, techniques, and procedures, and establish methods for implementing new or revised leadership programs. Perform research as a basis for recommending changes in procedures and policies. •Maintain current knowledge of and serve as a resource for ACE and department policies, practices, and procedures to member presidents and constituents. Specialized Knowledge and Interest Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education Leadership •Apply knowledge of best practices, trends, and research regarding historically underrepresented groups, diversity, cultural competency and inclusion in leadership in support of the IEG programs. •Assist as needed in identifying and initiating contact with key presenters and participants for IEG programs. Work with college and university presidents and other senior administrators on a regular basis. General Project Management •Demonstrate a high level of short-term and long-term complex project management. •Serve as lead or back-up, as assigned, with ACE departments, consultants and vendors, with special focus on resources for program constituents. •Assist in the work with Shared Services and Finance and Budget staff to capture financial data from ACE financial, and to accomplish program logistical and technology needs. •Develop and manage participant-tracking system for increased marketing and building of databases; maintain on-line collaboration network for IEG programs on the Blackboard site or other platform as assigned. •Effectively and accurately communicate status of projects, policies and procedures with all IEG staff and ACE staff. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in discipline or relevant area. •Proven analytical, research and project management capabilities. •Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills. •Ability to provide high level of service at the executive level. •Conduct research and summarize findings pertaining to issues related to higher education, diversity, inclusion and leadership. •Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational change. •Ability and desire to work on cross-segment teams within the Leadership Programs division. •Must possess strong interpersonal and listening skills. •Must possess strong organizational skills, including short-term and long -term planning, implementation and program assessment. •Demonstrated ability to tackle problems by using a logical, systematic and sequential approach. •Significant experience with databases and budget forecasting and analysis. •Experienced success in grant writing. •Should be self-motivated, self-directed, and have strong general office skills. •Must possess high proficiency level in utilizing a variety of software programs (Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
