Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Specialist
West Virginia University Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is accepting applications for an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Specialist. This position reports to the Director of Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity and is responsible for assuring compliance with all federal, state and University employment mandates as it pertains to affirmative action and equal opportunity. The AA/EO Specialist will support innovative programming which facilitates the broader goals of diversity and inclusion on the Morgantown campus, the divisional campuses and the statewide extension system. This position will also assist in overseeing the implementation of WVU’s Affirmative Action Program and recommend corrective action when institutional standards are not upheld. Additionally, the AA/EO Specialist will work proactively with recruiting units across campus to provide opportunities to improve their knowledge base and skills pertaining to best practices in affirmative action, equal opportunity and diversity. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Labor Relations, Public Administration, Education Administration or a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in diversity, affirmative action/equal opportunity or human resources, preferably in a higher education setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. First consideration will be given to applications received by June 2, 2014.
