The emphasis of this position is on direct services to students as a generalist counseling psychologist and may specialize in services including but not limited to first generation college students, underrepresented students, men, and African American/Black Student populations. Conduct initial assessments, time limited individual, couple and group psychotherapy; urgent care services; crisis response; consultation and outreach in a university counseling center. Provide supervision and training within an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited pre doctoral internship.
Salary: Annual $80,000
Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F
Although this position's schedule is Monday-Friday and during traditional work hours, weekends or non-traditional work hours may be required for special projects or busy times of the year, or when strict deadlines must be met.

Job Essential Function 1
Percent of Time: 55%
Provide direct services to students. Conduct time limited psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups. Perform initial assessments and evaluation, urgent care, crisis intervention and consultation to campus community. Deliver workshops, prevention programs, and may teach courses. In person case management of clients and referrals to additional resources as necessary.

Percent of Time: 15%
Coordination of major Counseling Center programs and initiatives (e.g., Peer Programs,COACH Program, Housing Liaison, liaison to other campus units) and participation in Counseling Center committee.

Supervise and train pre and post doctoral interns and other trainees. Supervision duties requires reviewing digital recordings, reviewing case notes and meeting trainees on a weekly and as needed basis.

Administration including client documentation compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and California (CA) reporting laws. Administrative case management. Attend Counseling Center weekly meetings and other campus meetings as needed. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Licensed as a psychologist in California (or license-eligible in California).
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program.
Supervision experience with pre-doctoral interns, preferably in an APA accredited program.
General knowledge of psychological assessment.
Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Extensive consultation and outreach experience, program development and evaluation including training faculty, staff and students.
Experience in group psychotherapy including, couples and families.
Training and experience in time limited psychotherapy, crisis response, substance/alcohol difficulties, domestic/intimate-partner violence with diverse clients.
Experience and interest in working with university students from multicultural backgrounds.
Strong student service orientation.
Ability to collaborate with the Campus Community consisting of Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Five post-licensure years of clinical/counseling experience in the field of psychology.
Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
Interest in the integration of research and technology in psychological practice.
Interest in the application and integration of social justice in counseling center work.
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
