Instructional Technology Accessibility Advocate
Chemeketa Community College

Position Summary
Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, seeks candidates for one full-time, Instructional Technology Accessibility Advocate. The Accessibility Advocate will participate in Chemeketa’s Accessible Media initiative - a college-wide endeavor to implement universal design principles across the curriculum. The Accessibility Advocate will collaborate with the college community to increase awareness, remove barriers, and promote an inclusive instructional environment for all students.

The successful candidate will work closely with various areas of the college including Distance Education & Academic Technology, Disability Services, Information Technology and Library Services, Diversity & Equity Office and Instruction & Student Services. The position may also serve as a leader, coach, and consultant to faculty using digital content to enhance teaching and learning in all modes of instruction.

The Community We Serve
Chemeketa Community College is the third largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, with approximately 50,000 students enrolled from a diversity of backgrounds. The successful candidate will have:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Distance Education, Computer Science, Information Technology or a field related to Technology access
One year of experience training on web/media accessibility customized solutions in a complex technology environment for persons with disabilities
One year experience working with W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable policies
