History: Modern East Asian, One-Year Teaching Fellowship
History -Augustana College invites applications for a Teaching fellow in Modern East Asian history. This is a full-time, one-year position, with benefits. The department has a high likelihood of conducting a tenure-track search during the 2014-2015 academic year. We seek candidates who are passionate scholar-teachers and have a deep interest in teaching undergraduate students.Teaching and research specialization are open, but ideally the candidate will have expertise in China and Japan. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses in East Asian history, modern China, and in our first-year Liberal Studies program. The teaching load is 7 courses over 3 ten-week trimester calendar. A Ph.D. in hand is desired, but A.B.D. candidates will be considered. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus.
