Job Description: The College of Pharmacy Office for Distance Education and Entrepreneurial Programs is searching for a Video Production Specialist. This position has duties within the Video Production group under the direction of the Director of Instructional Services. The College of Pharmacy utilizes immersive capture technology, advanced hosting and secure delivery tools to create a comprehensive on-demand e-learning solution. This position is responsible for supervision of and production of courses for online programs. Responsible for recording and/or editing courses and monthly training sessions audio recordings into an online course format using Audacity, Articulate, Camtasia Relay, audio or video recorder, and/or other software products. Involves the development of MP3 files, WIKIs, blogs, Internet course management based courses, and audio editing. Produce electronic lecture materials, and install lecture materials into an online course management system. Must demonstrate attention to detail at a high level. Responsible for setting up Elluminate live web meetings in courses and monitoring those courses at the time of their delivery. Ability to work at a fast pace without sacrificing quality. Must be able to set work schedules and meet project deadlines. Must keep abreast of the latest technologies in distance learning. Work with video codec's, web technologies, video capture equipment to create, post, re-edit or reuse previously produced content; using specifically: Winnov Cbox, PHP, HTML5 players, H.264, and Akamai CDN. Incumbent works directly within web based learning management systems including Kaltura, Sakai, and Canvas, for the secure streaming of video content for PC, Mac, and Mobile devices (iDevice, Android, Windows Mobile). Actively engage in course management covering the following areas: * Engage with the college's lecture capture production process related to type of lecture whether live or pre-produced including storage of captured elements, documents and assets, and adhering to protocols within each phase of production. * Working within e-learning course shells in Sakai and Canvas to post re-edit or reuse previously produced content. * Technical work with LMS including Sakai and Canvas instructional tools, layout, collaboration tools, assessments, storage and delivery systems * Using Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Photoshop to edit and revise captured elements upon request of instructor. * Working in 3rd party solutions like Articulate, Camtasia, SoftChalk, etc. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule with occasional weekends and travel required.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 7 years of higher education experience in distance education related to the production of video content for the web. * Audio recording/capture operation skills are necessary. * Expert-level competences with video codec's * Expertise in operating professional video cameras including PTZ remote cameras. * Web technologies, specifically Kaltura * Video capture equipment; specifically: Winnov Cbox * Must keep abreast of the latest technologies in distance learning. * Ability to multi-task and prioritize. * Ability to work at a fast pace without sacrificing quality. * Excellent time management skills. * Must be able to set work schedules and meet project deadlines. * Exceptionally organized with strong problem-solving skills * Clear, concise and professional communicator * Strong and demonstrable production skills including a minimum of 7 years' experience operating professional digital video cameras, audio recording, capture and editing equipment. * Deep hands on knowledge of online education including online video delivery, current technology trends and outlooks and production equipment. * Must demonstrate attention to detail at a high level.
