Under the direction of the Program Director and the Program Manager, plan, manage implementation, and maintain quality control of all programmatic and operational aspects of approximately 115 courses annually in online creative writing, plus coordinate special events. Responsibilities include actively supporting the program planning process, conducting student advising, management of the programs, coordination of events, assisting with budgeting and marketing issues, supervising an assistant, and assisting with office administration. Qualifications • In-depth knowledge of creative writing and the marketplace sufficient to support interpretation and problem-solving when working with instructors and facilitate thoughtful advising of students. • Knowledge of distance learning environment and technology utilized to support the courses online. • Skill in coordinating the necessary steps for implementing programs by working with instructors to determine program needs and then establishing time, place, and sequence of actions to be taken. • Ability to independently organize and implement a detailed event support plan, under general direction of the Program Manager. • Ability to speak effectively on a one-to-one basis and to groups, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain procedures and make presentations. • Supervisory skills, including the ability to provide guidance and support, delegate work appropriately, follow up on progress in a timely manner, provide constructive feedback and evaluate performance.
