The position will be housed in the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy which is in the College of Social Sciences & Public Policy.
A Master's degree in public administration, business administration, nonprofit management, or closely related field, substantial leadership experience in creating or enhancing the capacity of organizations that are designed to address social problems and a record of success in fund raising is highly preferred. Successful teaching experience is desired.
We are looking for a person with a strong record of successful social entrepreneurship who also has the ability to be a fine classroom teacher, a mentor to students, and a skilled developer of young entrepreneurial talent.
Develop and offer courses and/or teaching materials that help students gain the skills needed to create sustainable social enterprises;
Teach a capstone course in which students create a business plan for a social enterprise;
Mentor students in applied, experiential settings to help them develop the tools needed to develop sustainable social enterprises;
Coordinate an internship program in social entrepreneurship;
Advise students about careers in social innovation and social entrepreneurship; and
Assist College development officers in obtaining outside funds to enable us to provide experiential opportunities for students.
