Position Summary: The Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a national leader in innovative clinical care and teaching, is seeking a full-time behavioral health faculty member who is passionate about education, patient care, and the development of the next generation of Family Medicine physicians. The degrees can include PhD, Masters in Counseling, Masters in Family Systems, Psy-D, MSW, and LCSW. Responsibilities include: Behavioral Science Residency Education (50%) Planning and implementing longitudinal training activities including: * Interviewing and counseling skills including brief CBT * Management of ADHD, addiction disorders, and other emotional and psychological problems * Leading Wednesday morning didactic curriculum in behavioral health * Active precepting (BMAP) * Audio-visual Reviews (AVR's) * Intern support group * Residency recruitment * Available to program director regarding personal development with residents Clinical Practice (50%) * Therapy in the Family Medicine Center including individual and group therapy * Integration with care coordinators in the FMC * Consultation and co-counseling with providers, including resident physicians * Quality and Process Improvement around mental health issues in the FMC * Innovative point of care practice model for counseling Candidates will be credentialed at UNC Hospitals as a Family Medicine Independent Allied Health Professional and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina.
