Job Summary: The School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE) at the University of Michigan is seeking a qualified Senior Project Manager to provide project management services on behalf of the Dean and the School's senior leadership. SNRE's mission is to contribute to the protection of the Earth's resources and the achievement of a sustainable society. In striving to achieve that mission, the School utilizes a variety of resources to recruit and promote the development of its students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to carefully plan, execute, and monitor special projects for the School. This full-time term-limited position serves as a critical member of SNRE’s Dean’s Office team. Responsibilities: The selected individual will be responsible for all aspects of identified projects, from original concept through completion (research, analysis, resource identification, status reports, recommendations implementation, and status review). Projects will include strategic, high priority matters for the School. Examples include: recruitment innovations (international students, veterans, web-based recruitment sessions); new educational programs (collaborations with international universities, mid-career, continuing education, online instruction); alumni engagement (electronic and in-person); data tracking systems. Working with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders in the public and private sectors, the Project Manager will extend the School's expertise and activities in areas of strategic importance. Candidate will take a primary lead in exploring and developing new partnerships in support of identified projects. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in environmental field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables such as project scope, project plan, status reports, cost estimates, communication plan, presentations, risk management plan, milestone/deliverable charts. Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements. Ability to plan and facilitate meetings. Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision-making skills. Adaptability and flexibility, including ability to manage deadline pressure and evolving project scope and definition. Excellent presentation and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment, with an understanding of when to move forward and when to solicit additional input from leadership. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and timelines as projects and priorities unfold. Ability to represent the Dean and School more generally to internal and external audiences in a poised and professional manner. Additional Information: NOTE: This is a 2-year, term-limited position.
