Position Focus: *This position is located in Detroit, Michigan*

Position is for a Provider Specialist who will facilitate and coordinate the implementation of and research study for a new model of group prenatal care called Expect with Me in Detroit, Michigan. The Provider Specialist will: Organize and execute training of providers in the "Expect with Me" model of group prenatal care; Manage and troubleshoot all aspects of the group care implementation process; Respond to clinical questions and technical concerns from site personnel; Cultivate and develop key relationships within the hospital system to ensure effective collaboration and partnering; Conduct face to face recruitment meetings within the local community to promote awareness of and patient engagement in the program; Identify and apply best practices for group care implementation; Collaborate with providers and the research study team to ensure optimal patient enrollment, group session attendance, participation in the online educational components, and survey completion; and Ensure site compliance with program protocol and overall research study objectives. He/She will regularly communicate with other implementation sites and the broader study team. Must be able to work non-traditional and flexible hours (including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends) and travel in and around surrounding communities of Detroit, as needed.

Principal Responsibilities
1. Carries out research within the scope of the established study protocol. Adheres to all human subjects regulations as defined by Yale University and the federal government that pertain to research studies.
2. Develops criteria for admission of study subjects based on goals and objectives of project.
3. Determines potential sources of funding and prospective partnerships.
4. Evaluates feasibility of accepting potential projects through analysis of staffing needs, resource requirements, financial costs, and current planned capacity of group. Negotiates contracts and/or changes with funder.
5. Develops original HIC/IRB submissions. Based on knowledge of science and research goals, collaborates with PIs on major revisions and contributes to scientific protocols. Plans and implements changes.
6. Develops forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques; writes procedures manuals for data collection and coding.
7. Responsible for the documentation and transmission of study data. Ensures that report forms are accurately documented and completed in a timely manner at each site location.
8. Works independently to develop manage and organize multi site studies. Serves as primary coordinator between University, non-Yale collaborators, pharmaceutical companies, HIC, IRB and funding sources.
9. Performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses of data, using computer software.
10. Designs and implements quality control measures to ensure accurate collection and processing of data.
11. Contributes in-depth, original thought and relevance to written reports and to the writing of abstracts and manuscripts.Required Education and Experience
Master's Degree in a related discipline and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1: Experience working with health provider practices and hospitals with a focus on training and communication.

Required Skill/Ability 2: Proven ability to work with minimal supervision in a team atmosphere with multiple stakeholders and to establish a network of local, collaborative resources to advance program and research study objectives.

Required Skill/Ability 3: Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to modify content and delivery to best meet the needs of audience members.

Required Skill/Ability 4: Demonstrated strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, internet explorer and web based applications.

Required Skill/Ability 5: Extremely organized with the ability to pay attention to detail and document actions in a way that is transparent to all team members. Prior experience with health assessment tools, program planning, reporting and evaluation.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Two or more years of experience working in prenatal care, women's health initiatives, program facilitation or group care implementation. Human subject research experience and/or operational knowledge of prenatal care and women's health research. Coaching skills, motivational interviewing skills or other knowledge of behavioral change strategies. Fluency in both English and Spanish.
