Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and maintaining the calendar of events for the performance/meeting areas of the college. Provides technical assistance and training related to performance/ meeting equipment and facilities. Responsible for the maintenance of performance areas and equipment. Coordinates, schedules, and develops the annual calendar for the Performance Hall, Arena Theater, outdoor spaces, and related performance areas. Maintains calendar of events and coordinates the use of campus facilities. Publishes the calendar and provides weekly and monthly updates. Coordinates activities of performance and meeting areas including scheduling rehearsals, staffing, technical needs assessments and technical assistance. Works with user groups to identify needs and provides appropriate equipment. Prepares detailed sketches and develops material and equipment requirements for scenery, lighting and props. Oversees the construction of props, scenery, costumes and electrical work necessary for stage lighting and the movement and placement of risers, pianos, podiums, sets, and other related equipment. Performs routine maintenance /repair of theater and shop equipment. Notifies appropriate person/department of major repair needs.
Provides technical assistance relating to the special equipment functions of the performance facilities. May provide training in the use of lighting and audio/video control equipment, and the use of microphones and cameras. May write specifications for purchase or service contracts for equipment. Develops budgets and monitors expenses. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires extended physical effort, working with heavy tools or material of 50 pounds and more.

Associate's degree or higher plus two years of experience in a technical theater position or High school plus four years of experience in a technical theater position. Must have experience in theater management, technical operations and scheduling programs and events with a campus or performing arts facility. Experience in safe operation of power tools and experience in working with students who range from minimally to moderately familiar with technical theater functions. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, communicate, and generate reports. The ability to provide quality customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check and/or fingerprinting.*
