Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
A highly advanced managerial position responsible for the supervision of the daily operation of the college/location Admissions Office requiring advanced knowledge of the department and its functions and utilized a high degree of independent judgment and discretion. Coordinates the activities of the clerical staff in the completion of department functions. Responsible for the day to day interpretation, implementation, and communication of policies and procedures of the DCCCD, state and federal agencies, and higher education board regarding admissions. Oversees the overall record-keeping functions of the department to ensure proper management and storage and retrieval. Oversees department functions including:
1) Evaluation of TSI scores/transcripts, processing foreign student applications, and confirming residency requirements;
2) Verification and certification reports, files, enrollment status, records and applications; 3) Preparation and/or distribution of semester grade transcripts, degree plans, diplomas, certificates, and schedules; 4) The admissions and registration of students; Coordinates the updating of student records regarding residence classifications and assists the college Business Office in correcting residence problems identified via fee collection reports. Responsible for building, developing, inputting, and maintaining print and/or online course schedules, final grade rolls, add/drop, and withdrawals. Contingent upon assigned location, coordinates the admissions and registration processes for special programs and populations. Verifies accuracy and completeness of state reports. Works with internal and external auditors in providing records and documents for completion of periodic audits. Performs designated duties of the Director in his/her absence. Selects, trains, and evaluates designated staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Works with light, easy to handle materials requiring little physical effort.

Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of experience in an admissions related position including supervision or Associate's degree or higher plus seven years of experience in an admissions related position including supervision. Advanced knowledge of computer applications related to department functions. Ability to access and input student records to generate a variety of reports. Communication skills to support explanation of policies and procedures related to admissions and interpretation of regulations to students/prospective students, staff and the general public from diverse backgrounds.
