With our nationally recognized virtualization stack and our private cloud, we're comfortable with remote working and strive for a healthy work/life balance. *What you will do:* This is a full-time, university staff position with significant oversight of Housing & Dining Services' (HDS) database systems and services. Using available resources and independent judgment, this position coordinates the strategic direction and manages technical implementation for the department's database initiatives. Lead administrator and supervisor of the system operations and CBORD group. This position is responsible for formulating and solving problems, improving service delivery, uptime, and continuous evaluation of systems recommending changes for cost-effectiveness and greater productivity. Additionally, the position works collaboratively with other team members, utilizing system administration, programming, and database management skills to solve business needs. Lastly, this position leads change control management for the Housing Information Technology (HIT) unit. --- *What we can offer:* The anticipated salary for this position is $85,000. Minimum Qualifications: *What you have to have:* * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university * SUSTITUTION: Professional experience with systems administration, database or application management may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis * Four years of experience managing Windows Server 2008 or newer, and CBORD products * Experience as supervisor or group leader * Excellent written and oral communication skills

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *What you will need:* * Diligence in performance tuning, uptime monitoring and backup management. Respond appropriately as needed to database and related system outages. * Determine technical problems over the phone or in person and use independent judgment and professional principles to create a best-fit solution. Analyze technical systems and resolve, replace, and reset systems based on independent judgments, procedures, and practices. * Knowledge and skill with managing a service with high uptime expectation. Analyze and maintain code and systems to ensure efficient, stable database solutions. * Able to deliver new features, introducing new technologies as needed, and accommodate growth and scaling needs over time. * Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to varying technological environments. * Actively participates in face-to-face communication with HIT and department administrators, staff, students, other personnel, hardware/software vendors, technical support staff, and the university community in general. * Excellent communication and training skills to be able to present, train, and convey technical information simply and understandably to department staff and administrators. * To be able to periodically work under stressful and chaotic circumstances.

Desired Qualifications: *What we'd like you to have:* * Bachelor's degree, or higher, in technology or a related field * Experience with SQL 2012 and Windows 2012 * Experience managing MS Active Directory and group policy * Experience interfacing with vendors and consultants, especially with managing projects and software _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._
