Job Description Summary

Administers, scores, and reports the results of English, math, and other placement tests. Issues placement results to students and refers them to the Counseling Department.

Job Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensures the efficient and accurate operation of the assessment process. Proctors make-up and distance learning exams.
Provides assistance to faculty regarding make-up and distance exams.
Schedules tutoring appointments.
Maintains accurate and complete records of testing and other departmental services.
Provides routine information and directs callers/visitors to appropriate personnel and/or departments.
Assists with clerical functions as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Experience working with the public
Strong customer service skills Skills in keyboarding, basic grammar and basic math
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work with or without direct supervision in a busy student and faculty service environment
Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree
Strong attention to detail Experience with skills assessment testing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Previous work experience in a community college/higher education environment

Work Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Occasional Saturdays. Total work hours cannot exceed 1,040 per fiscal year

Target Hiring Rate/Salary Minimum of $13.81 per hour

Special Note

This is a part-time, SEIU 1199 bargaining unit position, grade 04. Current employees in this bargaining unit must be considered first.
