Posting Description: Examples of Work Performed: * Perform appropriate research and analysis and prepare reports on student, faculty, and staff data for the purpose of institutional research, planning, policy making, and decision making; apply knowledge of available university data and its appropriate uses. * As appropriate, formulate effective research questions by discussing with client (1) what was requested (2) what client wishes to do with the information, and (3) client's understanding of these results and the uses of similar information. Identify data source(s) and obtain the desired information. Analyze the data by running the appropriate data manipulation and analysis software programs. Check relevance to client requests. Output data in tables, graphs/charts/maps, or other appropriate formats to help client understand the information. Interpret results of data analysis and make recommendations on potential client actions in order to help client sensibly use the information. Produce written reports of research findings to clients and others in the University. Assist with collecting, analyzing, synthesizing, and creating reports with information from and about students, alumni, staff, faculty, finances and other elements as required to complete external guidebook surveys, such as U.S. News, Chronicle Guide, Peterson's and Business Week. * Work with survey software to develop surveys, collaborate with the OIRE AVC on institutional survey efforts to administer the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and then summarize and disseminate the results. Extract data to send to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), then use the data provided by the NSC to evaluate student success and create reports. * Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. * One year of professional experience reporting on faculty, staff, student, or similar data.

Desired Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience using Microsoft Excel to present, summarize, and manipulate data (including creating tables, charts and graphs). * Experience working with SQL, SAS, SPSS, GIS or database management or data warehousing tools. * Experience with web-based data interfaces. * Experience developing and implementing surveys. * Experience in higher education, with an understanding of higher education policies and issues.
