Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
Responsible for the daily operations of the college website. Performs administrative work to support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the locations internet publications. Participates in the overall Web strategy, development, processes and improvements. Responsible for organizing and overseeing the digital editorial workflow. Coordinates writing, editing and designing assignments; and oversee the digital editorial workflow. Establishes and manages a review system to ensure that all pages are periodically reviewed and kept up to date, then works with content owners to ensure that all updates are completed in a timely fashion. Supervisory: Responsible for the selection, training, coaching, development and evaluation of full time staff. Coordinates with the in-house production and technical teams regarding the layout, design and navigation of the college Web sites. Interfaces with the DSC-IT when technical issues areas that require their assistance. Coordinates with web and graphics staff to ensure the websites graphics and video support and enhance the written words. Establishes a quality control system for editorial content. Review usage reports and analyzes Web metrics, then makes suggestions for content and navigation improvements. Build consensus, facilitates win-win business outcomes and builds and gains commitment to new ideas and courses of action. Serve as a strong advocate for the Colleges Web best practices, usability standards and good Web design. Responsible for publishing emergency communications on the assigned websites. Establishes the readability guidelines and standards for assigned websites and teaches others how to write district standards. Monitors and enforces copyright compliance. Identifies and proposes additions to the District Style Guide, then brings them forward to the marketing and Communications Council for approval. Develops, maintains and utilizes knowledge of industry trends and competitive environment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
May be required to move and lift materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, technology, design or related field plus two years of experience in print or web publishing or Associates degree in journalism, communications, technology or related field plus four years of experience in print or web publishing. Requires excellent writing, editing, imitative, creativity and proofreading skills. Extensive knowledge of journalistic style standards and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students and community members from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check.*
