Position Summary: The International Student Coordinator is an administrative position in the Office of Admissions who has the responsibility to assist with the overall admission process for international students. The candidate for this position will also assist with the evaluation of domestic transcripts for transfer coursework. Responsibilities will include: - Evaluate foreign credentials for admission into GSU academic programs at all levels. Evaluate domestic transcripts for equivalency of general education coursework. Make admissions decisions by exercising discretion and independent judgment. - Act as the Designated School Official (DSO), interact with SEVIS and SEVP with record keeping/updates and handle other issues related to Admissions immigration and program administration matters. Collaborate with the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and other Designated School Officials (DSO) as needed. Certify all admission documents, including financial documents, and determine eligibility for admission, prepare and sign I-20s. - Stay up-to-date on evaluation standards, educational practices and the latest information on academic policy regarding international admissions standards at the undergraduate and graduate levels. - Act as a liaison with the Office of Admission, Office of International Services, graduate department, and students on application admission decisions, processes, and procedures. - Assist with events related to both admissions and international services - Report, prepare and maintain legally required records on prospective and current international students according to SEVIS and immigration services federal guidelines. - Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: -- Bachelor's degree required -- 3 years experience in Higher Education environment -- 2 years demonstrated knowledge with evaluation of international transcripts and education credentials at a regionally accredited US institution of higher education -- Knowledge of SEVIS -- Demonstrated knowledge with evaluation of international transcripts and education credentials at a regionally accredited US institution of higher education -- Experience in processing complex calculations, such as GPA conversions -- Experience with student information data systems
