Job Description Summary:
Associates degree, or higher, in an appropriate area of specialization plus 1-2 years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with a combination of education, training and experience.
At least one year of experience in a Registrar’s Office. Experience being a lead position/role model to junior staff.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Provides comprehensive information and support services via phone, email, and in-person in such areas as GWeb registration, class schedule information, enrollment/degree verifications, transcript requests, withdrawal information, and consortium information & registration.
Evaluates customers’ problems to include complex matters such as discrepancies in the registration process; resolves issues by offering explanations, options, and/or solutions, and follows through to resolution; assists SIS Representatives level 1 and 2 with more complex inquiries, which demand a higher level of knowledge and skill.
Processes requests for transcripts to include collection and recording of associated fees; Processes requests for certification of information contained within the student record and evaluates the request under FERPA guidelines; Processes biographical change requests and updates associated student records; Provides suggestions for continued improvements to Registrar’s Office processes based upon interaction with customers.
Scans and indexes pre-computer archive records to digitize the university academic archives; Troubleshoots missing/partial records and performs research to locate additional records.
Processing and evaluation of transfer credit. Consult with the Transfer Coordinator to determine course equivalencies for awarding of appropriate GW academic credit.
