NLU is seeking an individual passionate about teaching Communication and Public Speaking, interested in student learning and is willing to adapt to change while experimenting with innovative teaching models. The Faculty Course Expert with a focus on Communication and Public Speaking will support student learning outcomes by serving as a subject matter expert assisting students as they complete curriculum. This critical position will help students with content questions specific to a course, provide feedback on course performance and complete graded assessments. Faculty Course Experts also support student achievement of course competencies. Experience with competency-based learning is desired. Specific responsibilities include: -provide expertise in content area; -respond to student questions about learning material; -maintain knowledge and expertise in the content area; -support students in achieving competencies and developing a deep interest in the subject; -update the course as needed; -provide guidance in discussions. Required Qualifications: -Master’s Degree in Communication, English, Public Speaking, Business or other relevant field -Experience teaching in a competency-based education program preferred -Minimum of 3 years online teaching experience -Terminal degree preferred
