Admissions Enrollment Counselor (Freshman)

Job Description Summary:
This position is an integral member of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This person is responsible for recruiting new freshmen students from their assigned territory and will primarily be on the road for much of the Fall recruiting season.

Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree.
Minimum of one year relevant experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel is required.
Night and Weekend work is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to prospective students, parents, staff, administration and faculty.
Exhibits excellence in customer service.
Strong collaborative and team-oriented skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency.
Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze reports and set conversion goals.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in an organized and efficient manner in an environment that requires one to be able to work effectively both independently and as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Banner.
One or more years of student recruiting experience in higher education.

Essential Duties Summary :
Set up high school visits in their assigned territories.
Meet with high school guidance counselors to create feeder schools.
Developing personal outreach programs for those in their territory.
Participate in all on-campus events.
Assist in the management of volunteer workers on an as needed basis.
Assist in social media management.
Participate in training to learn FA practices.
Be able to interpret and explain FA awards to students and parents.
Represent Armstrong to a wide and diverse audience on and off campus.
Correspond with prospective students and their families.
Review applications in a timely manner.
Learn basic Banner data entry of applicants and how to admit, deny them.
Experience in presenting to groups of 20 or larger.
Performs other duties as assigned and appropriate.
